National award for mining museum


An award-winning Durham County Council museum is one of the first in the country to receive a new national quality badge.

Killhope’s lead mining museum in upper Weardale has been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, a national quality standard recognising safe educational experiences for young people.
